Trish Stratus, was born on December 18th, 1975, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her Dad is greek, and her Mom is of polish-decent. She has an older sister, which she is close to, and a younger sister named Melissa, who is ten years younger than Trish.
Growing up, Trish was very interested in the world of science. "I remember bringing home frogs, and studying them," Trish recalls. In high school, she was very smart, but also very athletic. She played on both the soccer and field hockey team. When she graduated from high school, she applied to York University, located in Toronto. Trish began studying biology and kinesiology, with the aspiration to go to med school. She was also a stand out on her school's varsity field hockey team, and soccer team. In 1997, teachers at York, went on strike. Trish was unable to finish her degree. She thought to herself, "Now what?" But as the door to med school closed, a new one was opened.
It is a well known fact that Trish enjoys comic books. One day, she came across a picture of Marla Duncan. Seeing an actual person possesing the "ideal comic book body" Trish thought, "I can do that!" She began getting involved in the world of fitness. Trish began working at World Gym. She was then asked by Scott Able- one of Canada's premier personal trainers- to do modelling job for a supplement line. Scott helped Trish in many ways, from her training to her diet. This caused her to really see results. "Since I study kinesiology, I have learned the theory, but to actually practice it, was quite amazing."
Trish was then introduced to Bob Kennedy of Muscle Mag International. He asked her to do a test photo-shoot. The photo shoot was to be only thirty minutes, but turned into six hours.
Since then she has appeared on more than twenty international fitness covers. While modelling, she hosted an all fitness call-in show on Hits 103.5, now known as Z 103. She also appeared on TSN's Off The Record with Michael Lansberg, and appeared on The Jenny Jone's Show, intitled "Celebrity Fitness Model Success Stories." Trish along with other fitness models, surprised old friends of theirs from school, who thought they had become things like doctors, and dentists, not knowing they became models.
As a kid, Trish was always interested in wrestling. She herself, use to watch the WWF all the time. Many are shocked when they hear this.
In the winter of 1999, Trish began co-hosting an all radio show which is very popular in Toronto, known as The LAW( Live Audio Wrestling ). Trish co-hosted the show for quite awhile.
Trish then appeared on TSN's Off The Record once again in 1999. On the show was Carl DeMarco, president of WWE Canada. He watched Trish, and seen she knew the business, and possed the qualities of being a talent. He approached her after the show, and helped with communication to begin with Trish and WWE Commentator and President of Talent Relations, Jim Ross. When TSN was to launch WWE Raw as a part of their programming, Trish was asked to come and talk with the crowd, and do trivia and things of that sort. Yet again, her stage presense was witnessed. By November Trish signed a multi-year contract with the company. The LAW posted the following message on their website during the fall of 1999:
*Co-Host Trish Stratus signed a deal to join the WWF(now WWE) as a performer/wrestler.
On March 14th of 2000, WWE fans were introduced to the Canadian Bombshell on Sunday Night Heat. She went out and scouted wrestler and fellow Torontoian, Test. She then promised to show the fans on Monday night, T & A. And she did. The tag team, of Test & Albert. Trish managed the team for a little over a year, but they never won tag titles.
In 2001, Trish began an on screen relationship with Chairman of WWE Vince McMahon. Until his daughter Stephanie intruded. Trish and Stephanie had many battles after that.
But after a humiliating night on Raw, thanks to Mr. McMahon and Stephanie, Trish kept a low profile. That was until Raw where she barked like a dog. At Wrestlemain Trish severed her elationship with McMahon during his fight with son Shane.
One day, while working out, Trish chipped a bone in her ankle. She was put on the shelf. As she sat at home, she began studying the other Divas. "When I got injured, it was a challenge for me to come back and do better then when I had left," Trish told WWE Magazine. And she did. At the time, women's wrestling was at an all time low. Trish began coming in early to the arena to warm up and practice, and to learn more moves. Before Trish was just a valet, now she had become a grappler.
